I was a bit worried Oxford parkrun might be cancelled, as mud and ice made it un-runnable for the first two weeks of January. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find out (a) that the run was going ahead, and (b) that the park had a miniature railway, aviary and mini golf course.
The route had been adjusted to avoid the soggiest bits of the course. We ran three laps on flat-ish terrain of varying degrees of squelchiness – from tarmac paths to farm-like roads, slippery grass and boggy fields. (By the end I had mud on the inside of my socks.)
My time was 27.19, and results are up here: Oxford parkrun 30.01.2016
Great run with a varied course (despite the laps), and to top it off I spent the rest of the day in Oxford, catching up with my friend Billy who I haven’t seen for far too long.
Next week: Milton Keynes
