I went to see my friend Patricia in Cheltenham a couple of weeks ago, and we headed out to the parkrun together on Saturday morning.
The route is flat-ish 3 laps round a small lake and across a (slightly boggy) field. I’m very confident there are crocodiles in the lake, so I’d advise running quickly.
We ran round together, and finished in just over 31 minutes – see results.
Patricia did a couple of parkruns back in ‘the olden days’ before finish tokens were invented. Coming back 5-6 years later, she was impressed by how many people there were, and in particular how many volunteers there were.
The rest of the day featured a lot of ‘galleries and calories’ as we hopped between art shops (in which we bought nothing) and cafes (in which we bought a lot).
Thanks to Patricia for inviting me to Cheltenham, and thanks to parkrun’s fantastic volunteers for putting on the event.

I’m running a different parkrun each week through 2016 to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK. Please check out my JustGiving page if you’d like to help out.
